If we were to do this walk again we’d walk from Carlingford towards Omeath for 5km and turn around and walk back to Carlingford (sorry Omeath). The start of the walk at Omeath wasn’t very nice. There was an eery feeling with disused buildings, an old abbatoir, graffiti on walls and rubbish. Once we got past this, it was cleaner with scenery all around us. There were beautiful views of the bay and Warrenpoint on one side and Slieve Foye on the other. It’s an easy walk on a path the whole way. No navigation needed. It’s exposed and windy so we would recommend hat, scarf and gloves.
