Malahide to Portmarnock

Location: Co. Dublin.

Difficulty: Easy.

Time: 50 mins each way.

Distance: 9km.

Equipment: Runners, rain gear, hat as it’s exposed.

Families: Buggy friendly.

Rating: 3 stars.

We both live in Swords so this was a walk of convenience for us as we both had Mother’s day plans. We parked in the Malahide Castle carpark as it’s free on Sundays and has ample parking, unlike the village. This is a beautiful seaside walk on flat tarmacked paths. It was a cold windy morning so the walk was not very populated but on warm sunny days it can be a very busy walk. For most of the walk we were beside a busy main road which somewhat detracts from the gorgeous views to Howth head and Lambay island.
